Britt Participates in Commemorations of Historic Battle

Montgomery, AL - Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) recently joined a bipartisan delegation of U.S. senators on a trip to Normandy, France, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The delegation visited Omaha Beach, one of the five landing sites of the Allied invasion on June 6, 1944. They also visited the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, where they paid tribute to the fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Senator Britt said the trip was a "humbling and inspiring experience." "It was an honor to stand on the beaches where so many brave Americans fought and died for our freedom," she said.

Britt also met with French officials and local veterans to discuss the importance of remembering and honoring the legacy of D-Day. "The bonds between the United States and France are unbreakable," she said. "We must never forget the sacrifices that were made to secure our liberty."

The bipartisan delegation's visit to Normandy serves as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation and the enduring impact of the Allied victory in World War II.
