Established in 2016, the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security, and Justice has emerged as a leading center for interdisciplinary research addressing critical societal transformations. After his distinguished tenure in the United States Senate, Senator Mitchell played a pivotal role in brokering the peace negotiations in Northern Ireland, culminating in the Good Friday Agreement.
